After many years as a working Mum, sourcing all the right ingredients for recipes can be a job in itself. For me, I use recipes as a guide. Often you need to use what is in the cupboard or the fridge, and it is amazing what creations you can make. |
To make this possible however, you do need some staples in the cupboard, herbs and spices, garlic, stock cubes, pasta, rice, basic vegies and if my experience is anything to go by, this is generally a culmination of household member's likes and dislikes. |
My favourite type of cooking is slow cooking. In the mornings, throw all the ingredients in the slow cooker, off to work and return to a house full of delicious aroma. Cook the rice, pasta or potato, steam some vegies or make a salad and you have a wonderful meal with minimal preparation time. |
